How to Tap a Watermelon and the Summery Drinks to Fill It With!

When it's summer, there's nothing better than a fruity, refreshing drink in hand. How to Tap a Watermelon 

What You'll Need:

• Watermelon
• Tapper or spigot
• A long, sharp knife
• Small paring knife or corer
• Long spoon or ice cream scoop
• Large bowls

• Step 1: To make your watermelon stand upright, level it by cutting a small portion of the bottom. 
• Step 2: Chop about half an inch of the watermelon's top part to act as a lid, and start scooping out the watermelon's flesh using a long spoon or ice cream scoop. Put the watermelon flesh in a large bowl and save it for later.
• Step 3: Using the coring tool, make a hole 2 to 3 inches from the bottom in the melon and insert the tapper. Screw the locking nut onto the shank and tighten it to secure it.
• Step 4: Fill your watermelon keg with a cool beverage of your choice, place the lid, and enjoy a delicious drink in style! Remember to avoid adding anything too thick or chunky to prevent it from clogging.

 

What To Fill It With

Now that you have your watermelon keg, you're probably thinking about what to fill it with. Using a blender, make juice from all the watermelon you scooped out and turn it into juice. This is a great kid-friendly option.
