Create the Perfect Halloween-themed Charcuterie Board

Posted by Sara Chinnock on

It’s hard to believe we’re in the last quarter of 2024! Halloween is almost here, and it’s seriously one of our favorite seasons at Sara's Boxes & Boards. We love the fun of candies, dressing up, and decorating—especially when it comes to our charcuterie boards!

Let’s face it: charcuterie boards are the ultimate showstopper for any event. They’re versatile and visually appealing, and you can never go wrong with a spread of delicious snacks. Whether hosting a Halloween bash or cozying up for a spooky movie marathon, a charcuterie board can fit right in.

So, if you’re ready to take your Halloween festivities to the next level, let’s dive into how to create a bewitching Halloween-themed charcuterie board that will have your guests raving.

Step 1: Choose Your Board

First things first, you’ll want to pick the right board. Whether it’s a rustic wooden platter, a spooky black tray, or even a pumpkin-shaped board, the foundation of your display sets the mood. Make sure it’s big enough to hold all those delicious treats you’re about to pile on!

Step 2: Select Your Cheeses

Next, it’s time for the star of the show: cheese! Think outside the box for Halloween—go for a mix of colors and textures. A sharp cheddar can give that classic vibe, while a creamy brie adds elegance. Pro tip: don’t forget to cut some of the cheese into fun shapes with cookie cutters! Ghosts and bats, anyone?

Step 3: Add Your Meats

You can’t have a charcuterie board without some delicious meats! Salami and prosciutto are always a hit. Arrange them in fun shapes—think roses or spirals. You can even use cookie cutters here for extra festive flair!

Step 4: Include Sweet Treats

Now, let’s talk treats! A Halloween-themed charcuterie board isn’t complete without something sweet. Sprinkle in some chocolates, candy corn, or creepy gummy spiders for a fun twist. Don’t forget about adding our Clare B. Freezn' Candies for a touch of sweetness and crunch.

Step 5: Add Some Extra Flare

For a little extra spookiness, you can include items like black olives (which look like spiders), radishes cut into ghost shapes, or even mini pumpkins for decoration. Fresh herbs like rosemary can mimic witchy brooms—get creative!

Once you’ve arranged everything, step back and admire your work!

But hey, if you’re looking to take the hassle out of your Halloween celebrations, consider our Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Tray. Designed to serve 10-12 people, it’s packed with at least eight different cheeses, two premium meats, and those delightful cinnamon sugar pecans mixed with colorful Halloween-themed M&Ms.

Or check out our Halloween Spider Box! This 10x14 box is filled with artisanal cheeses, Boars Head Meats, and nuts. It’s an effortless way to elevate your Halloween spread without all the fuss.

So gather your favorite snacks, get your friends together, and prepare for a hauntingly good time!
